In keeping with the general philosophy of the festival, the Hand Craft Market supports the development of local business and Hand Craft and has a particular emphasis on Fair Trade initiatives and will be featuring a range of products from SWIFT (Swaziland Fair Trade).
The festival has invited a top designer to facilitate workshops for Swazi Handcraft companies which allow space for participants and festival spectators to question their perspectives on material, product and process. Through experimentation and the exchange of ideas, participants will create a myriad of objects and sparkling new adornments for festival-goers.
This year sees the addition of a new area within the marketplace; this area is a place to relax and enjoy the live music of the new open mic stage. This new stage is intended to give an opportunity to anyone attending the festival to get up and showcase their talents. The stage will be open to all festival goers throughout the day.
